FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I have never taken a pole dance class before.  Will I be able to keep up with the class? Yes, we have a variety of classes.  We also offer a number of other classes to help you move forward!
  2. What should I wear to class? For fitness classes, please wear comfortable exercise wear and appropriate footwear for the class.  For  Pole classes:  For Level 1 classes, comfortable workout wear and bare feet are ideal for class.  For levels 2 and above, shorts are recommended, as you will be gripping the pole with your legs.  Unless otherwise instructed, please leave the heels at home.  This is for your safety while you are learning new skills.  Also, please refrain from wearing lotions, oils or jewelry (rings, watches, bracelets) to class.  Again, this is a safety measure.
  3. Are men allowed to take classes? Yes! All of our current classes are coed!
We even offer a Man Pole class every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. with Patrick!
  4. I have previous pole dance experience.  Do I have to start at Level 1 for pole dance classes? All new pole students are required to start at Level 1 or receive studio approval before attempting a higher level.
  5. When should I move from Level to Level in Pole Dance Classes? Again, this is up to you.  A good guideline is to move up once you have mastered the skills in each level.  For more information, please ask your instructor.
  6. Is there a minimum age to take classes? At this time, all students must be 18 years or older to participate in Verticality’s classes, workshops, parties and other services.
  7. Is there a weight limit for pole dance classes? Our studio has Pole Danzer 45 mm and 50 mm stainless steel poles.  The poles are reinforced (they have a pole within the pole) and are rated to hold up to 375 pounds.
  8. Do you offer private instruction? We do offer private lessons – contact us for more details.
  9. Do you sell dance poles? Yes, we are an authorized distributor for X-Pole.  You can buy the entire X-Pole offering from us.  Pick up at the studio, or get it shipped right to your door!
